Human Rights Council
The 38th session of the UN Human Rights Council is taking place from 18 June to 6 July 2018 in Geneva. Internet rights will be in focus this session, with a number of resolutions, panels and reports focused on the online dimension of human rights issues.
This new GenderIT.org edition looks at new and emerging issues in relation to online gender-based violence (GBV) in Malaysia, Egypt, India, Palestine, North America, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and various other countries and contexts.

The Association for Progressive Communications (APC) and 7amleh - The Arab Centre for Social Media Advancement submit this statement ahead of the Human Rights Council 37th session to express our grave concern regarding the crackdown on freedom of expression and infringements on privacy online for Palestinian citizens of Israel and Palestinians throughout the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Association for Progressive Communications, ARTICLE 19, IFEX and Privacy International are gravely concerned about the growing crackdown by states on secure digital communications, including encryption and technologies that enhance anonymity and confidentiality.
