African Declaration on Internet Rights and Freedoms
in 2021, we highlighted 27 stories of impact and change by our members, supported by APC subgranting. These stories demonstrate that listening to multiple voices and learning from positive impacts made locally are important ways to keep seeding and harvesting change.

At the moment, AFRINIC’s existence is at risk. The organisation is legally and financially targeted and there are repeated calls in the AFRINIC community to migrate the registry service to operate from outside the region.
How are APC members improving their communities' lives? Arid Lands Information Network promotes information and knowledge exchange in rural communities in East Africa so that they can achieve food security.
Four African digital rights-centred networks have committed to increasing collaboration for the consolidation of their work and avoidance of duplication of activities while ensuring the full attainment and protection of digital rights at national, regional and global levels.
The country reports collected here offer an in-depth rights-based analysis of the status of privacy and data protection legislation in Ethiopia, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Togo and Uganda.
Together with other civil society and human rights institutions, members of the African Declaration on Internet Rights and Freedoms Coalition demonstrated the gravity of online rights violations on the continent in the reports presented during the human rights situation sessions.
How are APC members improving their communities’ lives? APC subgranting has empowered Cameroon's PROTEGE QV to contribute to the development of the African Declaration on Internet Rights and Freedoms, amplifying digital rights advocacy efforts across the continent.
